Survival requires three things. All else optional luxury.
- A source of food.
- A source of water.
- A source of fire.
Dont's
"A good horse runs even at the shadow of the whip."
- Don't eat what you don't know is safe to eat. Shroomcutters can help with that.
- Don't drink what you don't know is safe to drink. How do I know water is safe?
- Don't find yourself without a source of fire. A tool and a stone, but what should burn?
Dos
"It's easier if you don't try."
- It is generally known that plump helmets can be eaten without preparation.
- It is generally known that moving water is safe to drink.
- If all else fails, firepools can be ignited. But are there other sources of light?
General Dwarven Knowledge
Any dwarf with legs short to be closer to this world knows:
- You can throw things at a fire to cook them.
- Dwarves sleep in pits. How to dig one?
- Zheleznyaks are salt. Try salting dangerous foods. What happens? Try salting dirty puddles. What happens?
- Crafting things requires materials to be in front of you, or beside you. You'll know what you can make out of the things around you, so gather everything you can in your "crafting spot".
